  • Who will you vote for?

I'm really sick of reading about and hearing about Barack NObama.  He is constantly being portrayed as the Messiah of the U.S. and the world.  Bleh!  He's a communist!  A rogue...deceiver...liar.  Shall I go on?  And what I'm equally tired of hearing is how many of my conservative (or democratic) friends do not want Obama as President because of what he will do to the good citizens of our country - and yet they say that they will not vote for McCain either.  To you people:  if Obama is elected and you lose more of your hard earned money or you hate the justices he appoints, and you detest the socialist/secularist road he rapidly steers us down...you'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

McCain is not perfect.  No one is.  Yes, he is a politician.  But so is everyone else in politics.  He's made mistakes.  Haven't we all?  He's pandering and changed his position on some things.  What, on immigration?  He actually has a rather consistent position on things.  McCain has been consistently prolife.  He has always supported the Second Amendment. He has never brought an earmark home to his state.  He may not have supported Bush's tax cuts, but he gave his reasoning:  there was no reduction in spending and he wanted both.  Let's see.  Some people mention McCain-Feingold.  Well, how does that affect you personally?  It doesn't.  You don't like him because the war in Iraq?  His name isn't George Bush.  He didn't personally send our troops there.  Sure he voted for the war - so did everyone else!  The WORLD had the same intelligence, the same opinions.  Go back and listen to or read what was reported about Iraq just days after September 11th.

Now when a politician vows not to increase your taxes, you can rest assured that that may or may not happen.  But when one vows to increase your taxes, you can bet the farm that he will.  And that is what Obama is saying.  He plans to increase taxes on EVERYONE.  He has stated that he's not planning on reducing the deficit (even though you know the left complains about the non-dwindling deficit under Bush) because he has a lot of spending to do.  Spending in the billions with all his socialist ideas.  Higher estate taxes...dividend taxes...capital gains.  No end to the Alternative Minimum Tax.  These affect everyone.

He is pro-abortion - doesn't have a problem with partial birth abortion (disgusting!).  Obama wants European-like universal healthcare (with all illegal immigrants included).  He was the most liberal member of the Senate - during the only term he has ever served.  I mean, what has he really done or said?  That he wants change?

And then there are his endless mind changes.  One such example is that he is against the Second Amendment; prefers that all guns be banned.  And yet after the Supreme Court make their decision, he says they were right and that he's always supported the right of the people to bear arms (never mind that his record and mouth say drastically different).

All I'm saying is please let us unite and spread the truth to all of our friends, strangers, whomever we can.  We must not let Obama become President of our great country.  McCain may not be the perfect choice...but he is a far, far better choice than the other.

Al Bore just said that he is calling everyone to his cause:  trying to recruit a million environmental activists to promote his twisted agenda.  Well I'm asking you to help me recruit a million activists to help save our country from going down the global-socialist route.  Do something.  Make a difference.

    Louie at the MotoGP Races

Louie went to see the MotoGP races at Laguna-Seca in Monterey.  His brother has become an avid motorcycle rider and loves to watch the races.  So, Paul purchased VIP tickets for himself, Louie, and his son Bradley.  So there they are...watching the races.  But I know what they're really up to!  This picture came courtesy of my nephew:

I guess it's safe to say that Louie is having a great time.    We're looking forward to having him back home.  And I'm looking forward to the day that I get to go away for a whole weekend!

FYI, the weekend has been great for Eva.  Grandpa came to spend the night on Saturday.  They went to the movies, ate junk food, played games, read books.  She's been in heaven...

We've been having a lot of fun here at the Pagnone house.  Louie's aunt and uncle from New Jersey have been here since mid-last week.  They are in their eighties and lucky for us, are able to travel.  I'm sure you know how older people are.  They are wonderful, set in their ways, and have the ability to relay the same stories over and over again.  But it's sweet and we don't mind.  Much.    Out of fear that some relative will tell on me, I won't tell you what other interesting things they say.  But I will tell you that older people have no qualms about discussing their ailments...regardless of what body parts or functions they involve.  Oh.  And they love to have the tv volume set at obscene levels.  But that is why the good Lord invented earplugs.

I've had to ease back a bit on my control issues - like letting Aunt Fran wash my dishes.  I've had to laugh when emptying the dishwasher and finding disposable utensils that have been cleaned...or used paper towels that are drying on the counters, waiting to be reused.

They are Democrats.  Like us, they have been complaining of taxes, social security (they want reform.  let the citizens take the money and invest some on their own, they say), gas prices, and politicians who pander and just want to raise taxes even higher.  Call me crazy, but I'm confused as to why they vote the way they do.

Luca has been moving along quite quickly.  Within a week, he has decided to not only start crawling around the house like a mad man, but is pulling himself up to stand.  He is also getting his first tooth.  I hope he doesn't become a biter...cause that would hurt!

We've decided to get a pool.  YAY!!  We had two companies come out to give us an estimate last week.  We're going to get a couple more and then make a decision.  The sooner the better, if you ask me.  I cannot wait!

So that has been the past week.  I'd write more...but it's kinda hard typing with one hand now.
